FILM TREATMENT

Hidden in plain sight

A script has been written for the first 8 minutes with a 2 minute version made as well.
The film is primarily a horror/mystery with a heavier theme of mystery, it takes place around a student, two detectives and an unknown entity that tormented the student. The title ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ emphasises the concealed antagonist inside society and is too mobile to identify its exact existence which can make this dangerous entity more powerful, the sense of power creates an interesting and unique plot for the audience.
A script has been written for the first 8 minutes with a 2 minute version made as well.
When a student comes into a police station telling an unlikely event, two detectives try and break down what happened. The confused teen is unaware of what happened to him during and after his experience as well of how the situation is happening.
The film itself opens with a quiet atmosphere with slightly creepy music playing in the background to create a semi-calm atmosphere for the audience to allow the tension to build up throughout the scene. This first scene was shot in an enclosed location to create the feeling of isolation for the teenager for the audience to understand how the teenager is feeling more whilst he is feeling intimidated due to the two detectives standing over him.
The ending of the second scene ends abruptly as the diegetic scream is heard, this is to create a cliff-hanger for the audience to intrigue them, the enigma code created in this sequence forms a mystery for the rest of the plot which is what grabs the attention of those that are watching.
