Location Research

Locations

Ebbisham Park

Ebbisham park consists of very lush bright green backgrounds with small patches of dead and leafless trees, the variation in environments in this small area can be used effectively to convey certain emotions and connotations through to the audience, the bright green colour has lots of potential to be altered and re-coloured and shaded through editing to create a much more spooky and intimidating atmosphere than the colourful peaceful grove it appears to be in reality.

The Hogsmill River

The forest near the Hogsmill River is a great location for a horror movie due to the large contrast in colours, there are large patches of dirt in the environment surrounded by bright green grass and trees, the large array of colours will allow us to play around with multiple visual effects to create an ideal visual experience that will convey the horror conventions we want. It consists of a dense forest accompanied by multiple broken structures as seen below surrounded by large patches of dirt. The forest near the Hogsmill River is a great location for a horror movie because it features both enclosed and open areas which gives us freedom in the shots we use. I feel that we will end up using the Hogsmill River as our main filming zone rather than Ebbisham Park due to how much more diverse the Hogsmill River is in colour, environment and atmosphere.

This is an example of one of the areas we visited.
